The recipe is this: two hectograms of pop culture, a walnut of vintage design, a name that is in everyone's ears and a lot of music, which never goes out of fashion. The result, at least in the objectives of Polaroid, is to create the perfect Christmas gift, useful and "gigione" enough, to unleash the wow effect when the package is opened.Of course there is some semantic shift, since Polaroid until yesterday was just an image and now it also becomes sound, since we are talking about a series of bluetooth speakers. These products have arrived on the market in these hours, but only in a preview at the Rinascente in Milan;instead they will be widely available in the main stores starting from November 1st, just in time for the rush of Christmas shopping. With the occasion of the launch, Polaroid organized a press conference at the Rinascente in Milan, the right opportunity to touch this new trend of the Polaroid brand. There are four new products and they are called, in order of size from the smallest to the largest, P1, P2, P3 and P4.In all cases, these are Bluetooth speakers that therefore require a smartphone or a device as a source, something that may not be immediately clear to less specialized users, given the "radiolona" look that could suggest something "autonomous" ".From the technological point of view, we are not talking about particular news: speakers of these technical characteristics have already seen and amazed. Also the peculiarity of being able to merge two in a stereo layout, which is not bad, is not an absolute novelty. But certainly the look is distinctive and perfectly incorporates the Polaroid colors and character, managing in one fell swoop, just like the instant camera does, to meet the favor of the very young and the tender affection of differently young people with some white hair. The P1 is small and resembles the size of an instant camera. And also the keys, which are colored and in relief, recall the same "iconography" of an era.It is a 45mm mono-track powered by 10 watts. No, it is not high fidelity, but it is a nice gadget, to also hang on the backpack, thanks to the integrated carabiner. The 2000 mAh 3.6V battery lasts up to 10 hours and recharges in 2 hours via USB-C.Also noteworthy is the IPX5 splash proof certification, which is not available on the larger models.Available in four colors (black, yellow, red and blue), it has a list price of 59 euros. The P2 already begins to remember the old radios, even if in a fairly small size, 22 cm wide.In fact, it is as if a P1 were doubled by adding a central part that houses an iconic display (in the sense of the term, it shows icons or sliding writings), obviously also circular and composed of an 8 x 8 matrix of large LED points. We said a double P1: and in fact the drivers are 47mm, very similar to those of the P1 but two, and the amplification becomes 2x10 watts. But to get a better bass performance, the two front drivers are flanked by two 60 mm passive speakers placed at the back, behind a grille that covers the entire rear surface. The battery also practically doubles here, going to 2500 mAh at 7.2 V for a declared autonomy of 15 hours.A fifth one is added to the 4 colors of P1, a light gray;the price goes up to 129 euros. The same layout and the same display is also found on the P3, but in dimensions, and therefore also in sound, more generous (the width becomes 30 cm).The greater space also allows you to insert a dedicated tweeter in the center of 1 "and 5 watts; alongside two 2.5" mid-woofers (about 64 mm) each amplified by 15 watts. On the back the usual 74 mm passive drivers. Here appears the classic radio handle, not mobile though.7.2 V battery that switches to 4000 mAh to maintain autonomy of 15 hours.Always 5 colors available and price that rises in alert areas to 189 euros. The biggest challenge comes with the P4 model, the bigger one, which loses the symmetrical layout and is based on generous (for the device class) 100mm woofer and two other 1 "speakers, probably cut differently to create a three-way The powers rise to 40 watts for the woofer and 2 x 10 watts for the tweeters, on the rear a passive driver with a diameter of 16 cm.Autonomy always 15 hours with a battery that rises in voltage to 10.8V for 4000 mAh of capacity. Here too there is the handle, which is more useful than ever since we are dealing, at this point, with an object that weighs over 2 and a half kilograms.Available in black and yellow, it has an unusual price for Bluetooth speakers, of 289 euros;but it must also be said that Bluetooth speakers rarely integrate drivers of this size.Copyright © 2022 DDay.it - Scripta Manent publishing services srl - All rights reserved - VAT number 11967100154
