As we move towards winter in the northern hemisphere, our lives could probably do with lightening up a bit. At least, that’s what Austrian audio company Pro-Ject thinks with its new Colorful Audio System launch.

This collection of perfectly matched audio separates has been carefully selected to build into an all-in-one audio system capable of serving up some authentic stereo sound. The kit comprises a high-performance turntable, a Bluetooth-equipped amplifier, plus a pair of bookshelf loudspeakers. And they’re available in five satin finishes: black, fir green, golden yellow, steel blue, white and walnut. Pro-Ject has even used a natural wood veneer for that little extra touch of luxury.

The Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO turntable focuses on the core aspects that make a vinyl record sound superb. The Debut Carbon EVO is handmade in the EU and built to last a lifetime. The turntable has a heavy and solid MDF plinth with eight layers of hand-painted finish. The new platter, motor suspension, speed control and height-adjustable feet are all designed to deliver an impressive sound from old and new records.

The Debut Carbon EVO turntable connects to the MaiA (My Audio Integrated Amplifier) S3 with eight inputs, including RCA Phono for MM, MI or high-output MC cartridges. There are three line-level RCA Phono inputs for connecting a CD player, tuner or cassette deck. Connecting digital sources like a TV or a CD transport is also possible using coax or optical S/PDIF input.

The MaiA S3 has a built-in DAC that can handle files up to24bit and 192kHz. To stream music from a smartphone, tablet or PC, the user can connect to the AptX HD capable Bluetooth receiver with a resolution up to 24-bit and 48kHz, slightly better than standard CD quality.

The matching Speaker Box 5 S2 loudspeakers have a spacious and detailed sound, thanks to a 25mm silk dome. There’s also a 130 mm fiberglass woofer for a full-bodied midrange and a punchy bass. The Speaker Box 5 S2 is manufactured in Europe from high-quality materials and is stuck together using fire-resistant and eco-friendly glue to avoid any sound leakage.

The compact MaiA integrate amplifier has a phono stage, three RCA phono inputs, SPDIF and coax ... [+] inputs, plus Bluetooth apt HD receiver.

The loudspeakers and the Pro-Ject turntable are finished in the buyer’s chosen color, while the MaiA amplifier is finished in black. Pro-Ject completes the kit with two 3m lengths of its high-purity oxygen-free copper speaker cable and a set of Pro-Ject Damp isolating feet which should be used when the turntable and speakers are placed on the same surface.
